A Research Team of CASS Library Carries out Investigation on the Utilization of Scientific Research Literature and the Construction of Databases at CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law

On July 16, 2019, a Research Team of CASS Library, headed by Mr. Zhang Dawei, Deputy Head Librarian of CASS Library, visited CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law and held a colloquium with some searchers of the two institutes on the utilization of scientific research literature and the construction of databases. The colloquium was presided over by Professor Liu Xiaomei, Deputy Head Librarian of CASS Law Library and a research fellow at CASS Institute of International Law, and attended by many researchers from the two institutes.

At the colloquium, the persons in charge of the Department of Construction of Documentation Center, the Digital Resource Department, and the Cybersecurity and Informatization Department gave detailed introductions to the National Philosophy and Social Sciences Documentation Center, the National Philosophy and Social Sciences Academic Periodicals Database, the CASS High-Volume Database and other digital resources developed by CASS Library, as well as the one-stop search platform of various introduced e-resources and databases. They also explained the safety security settings of CASS email system, the handling of junk mails, inter-lending, document transmission and other method of utilization of digital resources and think tank service methods.

The researchers of the two institutes, in light of their own research needs, and experience of literature and data, raised such demands as purchasing characteristic legal databases and foreign language databases, further expand the use-permission of existing databases, facilitate the use, especial the remote use, and improving the user experience of digital and literature resources, The leaders of various departments of CASS Library patiently answered the questions raised by the researchers, and indicated that they would carefully review and study the issues raised by the researchers and adopt feasible countermeasures as soon as possible.
