A delegation of CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law, headed by Professor Mo Jihong, Director of CASS Institute of International Law, attended the Exhibition of National Security Education in Macao on May 5, 2019 at the invitation of Macao Youth Association of Patriotic Education. Members of the delegation included Professors Li Zhong, Xiong Qiuhong, Chen Xinxin, Liu Xiaomei, Li Qingming, Jia Yin, and Fu Panfeng.
Accompanied by Mr. Huang Jialun, the Chairman of Macao Youth Association of Patriotic Education, and Mr. Jian Haoxian, the chairman of the Council of the Association, members of the delegation attended the exhibition together with over forty members of the association.
The exhibition consisted of four parts: “the Road Towards Rejuvenation”, “Being Prepared for Danger in Times of Safety”, “Security and Development” and “Our Responsibilities”. It usesd vivid videos, pictures, and written materials to demonstrate the one-hundred-year process of national renewal and the glorious history of the return of Macao to the motherland and the historical positioning of Macao as one of the “central cities” in the national strategy in the new era, and highlighted the constitutional obligation of the Government of Macao SAR to uphold national security, and displayed a series of activities carried out by the Government of Macao SAR to promote education on national security, thereby effectively enhancing Macao residents’ consciousness of loving the motherland and loving Macao, consciousness of national identity, and consciousness of national security.
Whiling attending the exhibition, Professor Mo Jihong pointed out that further strengthening the national security education is an important means and concrete embodiment of the implementation of the overall outlook on national security and enhancing the national security consciousness of Macao residents. Youth groups, as the pioneers and an effective force of patriotism, should correctly understand the national security situation and conscientiously uphold national security. Macao SAR should, in light of its own characteristics and advantages, play an important role in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Belt and Road, strengthen the bottom-line thinking, enhance risk awareness, and build its capacity for dealing with national security risks.
