The Demonstration of Peking University Lawyee Big Data Empirical Legal Research Platform was held at the Reading Room of CASS Law on March 19, 2019. The demonstration was attended by the researchers of CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law, as well as the staff members of the CASS Law Library.

 

The demonstration was divided into two parts: interactive introduction and training on special topics. In the first part, Ms. Zhu Lingling, the Sales Director of Beijing Lawyee Technology Co., Ltd., explained and demonstrated the various online service functions of the platform, including creation of research topics, maintenance of samples, setting of variables, and issuance of results, and invite the researchers to try out the platform themselves.

 

In the second part of the demonstration, a keynote speech was given by Ms. Yan Yaqiong, a senior data analyst at Beijing Lawyee Technology Co., Ltd. In the speech, she gave a brief introduction to the resources of the platform and their usage, and demonstrated how to use the big data analysis platform to carry out empirical study in teaching and research. After the speech, the participants of the demonstration carried out in-depth discussions on such issues as the processing of the data sample, the statistical analysis of variables, and the method of use of the platform.
