The Academic Seminar on “the Standardization of Legal Digests and Law Journals” and the launching of the book “China Legal Digest (2016)” was held in Beijing on December 15, 2018. The event was jointly sponsored the Editorial Board of Chinese Journal of Law of CASS Law Institute and China Social Science Press, organized by the Law School of Central University of Finance and Economics, and attended by over 50 representatives from law journals, academic digests, and legal databases, as well as experts and scholars from CASS Law Institute and China Social Sciences Press.

At the launching of China Legal Digest (2016), presided over by Professor Zhang Guangxing, Deputy Editor-in-chief of Chinese Journal of Law, Professor Chen Su, Director of CASS Law Institute and Editor-in-chief of Chinese Journal of Law, Professor Wei Changbao, the Editor-in-chief of China Social Sciences Press, and Professor Xie Haiding, the Director of the Editorial Department of Chinese Journal of Law, each gave a speech in which they introduced the background, the content and the academic value of the book.

The Chinese Legal Digest was edited by the Editorial Board of Chinese Journal of Law and published by China Social Sciences. The 2016 volume of the book contains the digests of over 200 articles selected from 21 different academic law journals and one comprehensive social science journal.

At the Seminar on “the Standardization of Legal Digests and Law Journals”, the participants gave speeches and carried out discussions around the following topics: the significance of publishing the Chinese Legal Digest; the functional orientation of the Digest; the future development of the Digest; the sources of the Digest; the standard for the selection of articles and abstract-making and editing methods; and the style and columns of the Digest.
