Professor Liang Huixing Gives Lecture on the Book of the Right to Personality in the Draft Chinese Civil Code

Professor Liang Huixing, a research fellow at CASS Law Institute, a member of the Academic Committee of CASS, and the Honorary Dean of the School of Civil and Commercial Law of Zhuhai College of Beijing Institute of Technology, gave a lecture on the Book of the Right of Personality in the Draft Chinese Civil Code at East China University of Political Science and Law in Shanghai on December 19, 2018. In the lecture, he gave a detailed introduction to the draft law and answered the following five questions: how is the right of personality protected in countries of the common law system? Why was the concept of “the right of personality” invented by the people in civil law countries? What are the particularities of the right of personality? What are the common experiences of civil law countries in the protection of the right of personality? And how should we treat the Book on the Right of Personality in the Draft Chinese Civil Code?
